Women’s day was celebrated with zeal & zest in Chitra College of Nursing on 08/03/2022. The purpose of celebrating Women’s day was to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students.
As a part of Women’s day celebration, a short programme was conducted in the multipurpose hall of the college. The Principal gave a short speech on the UN given theme for 2022, ‘Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’. The faculty, Mrs.Sridevi delivered a short speech on ‘Gender bias’. Moreover, a student of IV year BSc Nursing, MsSherinSanthosh spoke a few words on the importance of celebrating Women’s day. Some cultural events were also conducted.
As a part of ‘Nurses week celebration” which was conducted by Muthoot college of Nursing-Kohenchery organized various cultural programme for all staff faculties and students on 06.05.22. Faculty Mr. Julie and students participated from our college. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Mathewmariath- KGMOA Secretary. It was noticeable that our Principal Prof.James Chacko was the programme coordinator for culture and sports from Pathanamthitta unit. After that Yoga session was held by Mrs. Laxmi Narayanan- Yoga trainer for staff and students. Followed by that qui programme were held separately for students and staff. Along with that poster presentation were held. Finally the winners of each competition were announced. From our college the students won second position for Quiz competition-II yr students Mr. Sandra Maria Syrez and Mr. Yedhukrishna.
The sports day programme was held on08.05.22 Municipal stadium- Pathanamthitta, from our college including Principal sir two more faculties Mrs.Revathy S Pillaiand Mrs. Varsha, students 12 members participated. The sports started at 8am with the inauguration ceremony by Mr. AnilKumar-District sports secretary followed by various sports competition. From our college different winners came forward. Prof.James Chaco- Shotput& Discus throw- First position, Javelin Throw-Second position Mrs.RevathySPillai-Musical Chair-I position, Merrin Sleeba- 100meter- III, Elizabeth scaria- 400meter-II, Yedhukrishna- Discuss throw-II, Sivalekshmi-Javelin-III, Asish- Javelin-III, Kavya Murali--Lemon and spoon-I and Anna Benny-II.
