The inauguration of the college union was held on 27th July 2022. The programme commenced at 2 pm; with the invocation to God by chitra college choir group. The meeting was anchored by Mrs.Sherin sherly santhosh (IV yr B.Sc (N) student); and Prof.James chacko, the principal of chitra college of nursing delivered the welcome speech formally welcoming the students union members, faculties and students. The official inauguration of the programme was done by the principal. The principal and Mrs.Saritha thampi (Asst.Proff-Dept of OBG Nsg), lit the lamps of the new union members; followed by which the formal oath taking by the members of college union members were conducted. The members recited the oath, and oath was administered by Mrs.Shiny Mariam Soman (Lecturer, Dept of CHN) and Mrs.Sneha (Clinical Instructors-Chitra CON). All the candidates delivered speech, promising to keep the duties assigned to them. Thereafter, various cultural programme were conducted by the students of all batches. By the end of the programme, vote of thanks was delivered by student Vice chairperson, Mrs.Anitta Antony (IV yr B.Sc (N) student). The session concluded with the National Anthem.

As a part of community health nursing requirement for II nd year B.Sc nursing for the academic purpose, 30 students of II nd year B.Sc(N) went to visit water treatment plant, Under Kerala water Authority , Chiranickal on 12/08/2022. The staff at the centre explained in detail about the water purification process, its purpose, source & methods in steps. The students could gain a wide knowledge related to the same. There was a small interaction section between the students and staff after the explanation, which helped them a lot to gain more information about the wide processing unit. The staff of water treatment plant was much co operative and guided students to develop understanding of the treatment plan.

As part of curriculum of final year B.Sc nursing there was a vist to leprosy centre, Nooranand on 19/08/2022. The total of 29 students along with 2 staff went for the visit. LEPROSY (Hansen’S disease) is a chronic disease which is well explained by Dr.Lasitha, Civil Surgeon, they explained the treatment and criteria being followed in the sanatorium. After the class students interacted with the separated and gained adequate knowledge about the same. After the classes there were visit to, male and female ward.
