Report On Nutrition Day Celebration

As a part of Curricular requirement of I year BSc Nursing Programme, the students of 2020-’24 batch conducted and celebrated the ‘Nutrition Practical Programme’ from 05/01/2022 to 07/01/2022 in Chitra College of Nursing. The programme was organized in a very good manner. Students participated and arranged the programme well. The programme was held at the Nutrition lab of the college from 9 am to 1 pm on each day.

The preparation phase of the programme started in the morning. Students were divided into 3 groups and were assigned to prepare different dishes according to different types of diets.

Different charts on various topics related to nutrition, like ‘Different types of diet’, ‘Importance of Nutrition’, ‘Health benefits of balanced diet’ were displayed in the lab. The preparation phase of the programme was harmonious and interesting with all the involved members showing participation & co-ordination.

After the preparation, the dishes were covered well with protective transparent coverings and were displayed with labels. By afternoon, students invited the Principal, Vice-Principal and all the faculties of Chitra College of Nursing. Students explained the dishes to them. They thanked the Principal, the Vice-Principal & all the faculties for giving them an opportunity to celebrate the Nutrition day, & for guiding them. Overall, the programme was a grand success.

The 12th batch of first yr b.sc nursing students of Chitra college of nursing started their academic year on 23rd March of 2022 with the Objectives; to orient students to the college/ hospital and environment, to provide information and opportunities to explore academic success strategies The ability to function safely in the college/hospital/campus, to articulate and understand the advantages and challenges and to make students experience a sense of connectedness within the university campus. The Orientation Programme was held at college auditorium. All students were invited with their parents to attend the programme. There were students, parents and teachers in the programme. Programme started with prayer song and inauguration of lamp which was done by Chairman Dr.L.Jeyachandran , Principal- Prof.James Chacko, Administrator Mr.K.Shaji and ViceprincipalProf.Siva Jeya Anand. The first years coordinators and all faculties gathered the programme. Than after welcome speech done by Principal- Prof.James Chacko Chitra Nursing College. Sir and all faculties gave warm welcome to new students. They emphasized the value of professional education. They congratulated students for getting admission in “Nursing Profession.” They all conveyed the value of education and orient students about new scheme of syllabus with University rules. They conveyed the parents the vision of our college “To Learn, Love and Light” so ultimately the students are welcomed to the temple of learning, listen to the words of wisdom and fly with the wings of success in the world". Principal Sir emphasized on professionalism and conveyed the code of conduct in nursing profession. They congratulated students for getting admission in “Nursing profession”.They all conveyed the value of education and orient students about facilities in university,college ,hospital and hostel.Prof. Siva JeyaAnand vice principal chithra college of nursing introduce about the syllabus ,Hours ,subject in semester wise and university exams.Mrs.sridevi coordinator of Ist year BSc nursing introduced all faculties to the parents and students. ANTI-RAGGING affidavit was filled by students and guardian and selected PTA executives were selected orientation day itself due to covid situation. The orientation programme was ended at 12pm. The parents were given chance to speak about their doubts and queries if they have any. One representative from parents group expressed their wish for the frequent meetings so that they may know about their children’s academic progress. At the end of the programme, all dispersed after singing National Anthem.
